Skin Care Link Up

Today I am linking up with Love Your Skin Linkup. Taking care of your skin is SO important & I think sometimes we forget that (at least I do). One thing I am proud of myself for is ALWAYS taking off my face makeup, I honestly can't remember the last time I slept with makeup on my face. I always tanned occasionally in high school and college- for special events, but never too extreme. I haven't been in a year and a half & decided to embrace my natural ghostness. This is especially because I went to the dermatologist  and they found a precancerous mole on my stomach that had to be removed. It could be from genetics or tanning. However, removing the TINIEST mole on my stomach left me with an inch long scar. I hate that I can't say I will never tan again, but for the meantime I'll stick to being pale.

1. What's your daily skincare routine?
When I wake up I wash it with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash-no biggie. Then I use a basic moisturizer because my skin is really dry. At night I wash it with the same & 2 times a week I use an exfoliating masque.

2. A skin product you could never live without?

I can't name a specific product because I am always trying out new products, but it would be some type of moisturizer.

3. Have you ever used a tanning bed?
Guilty. I am one of those people who believe that everyone truly looks better with a tan. I feel better about myself when I tan & wear less makeup. However, I do realize how bad it is for you & haven't been in a long time.

4. Thoughts on spray tanning?
Love them-the healthier alternative to tanning beds. I have had some bad spray tanning experiences when it first came out, but I recently got one for NYE & I loved it!

5. Favorite brand of sunscreen?
Whatever's in the cabinet

6. Biggest skincare splurge?
Currently it's this Image Skin Care Total Resurfacing Masque. It's not too bad at $25, but I am debating if I will buy it again when I run out. It has AMAZING reviews, but I don't know if I have noticed $25 worth of a difference

7. Celebrity with the most perfect skin?

Let's be honest, I would take most any celebrities skin over mine anyway. The first person that came to mind was Halle Berry.

8. Feature you're most self-conscious about?

Ummmm...probably my teeth. I hate how they look from my side profile.

9. What do you think about botox?

I say go for it, as long as its not overboard. I may or may not have asked my parents the other day if I could get botox.

10. I feel most confident when..

Me & my girlfriends get all dressed up, have fun, and go out

  1. I enjoyed reading your post! My "about" section on Facebook used to say: "I believe everyone looks prettier with a tan!" Then I got diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma & all of that changed... What's pretty about something that's actively trying to kill me? Ugh! :-)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience with you! Glad to read that you aren't tanning as much anymore!

  6. I suck at taking my makeup off. It's a work in progress. I also think everyone looks better with a tan. Everyone also looks better after I've had a beer too but hey that's another topic.

Being tan just makes it so much easier to get ready. You already feel pretty without having to do anything. Why must it be so bad for us?!

    Thanks for linking up :)

  7. I was guilty of tanning during my junior and senior years of High School, especially during prom season... But that all changed when I saw a dermatologist for treatment of my acne and happened to ask about a mole on my abdomen that I noticed had changed in color... after a scrape biopsy of it, it was determined to be the beginning stages of malignant melanoma, and I had a large area around the mole surgically removed... Just wanted to share my personal experience with you, glad that to hear you haven't used the tanning beds in awhile!

  8. Do you go and get a professional spray tan, or do you do it at home? I've done them at home, and it always turns out blotchy, or orange. I'd really prefer to do it at home though! Any product suggestions?
